iPhone 6.9" vs 6.5" App Store screenshots

App Store Connect still asks for screenshots across iPhone display classes. Two of the most common are the 6.9" and 6.5" families. You do not need two separate designs—you need one layout that exports cleanly at every required size.

Why both sizes show up

Apple groups devices by display class. If your app supports modern iPhones, Connect often expects creatives for the largest classes first. Uploading only one size can leave gaps or force last-minute resizes that crop text and UI.

Practical rule: design for your primary phone artboard, then export the matching set for every size your listing requires.

What changes between classes

• Pixel dimensions differ; aspect ratios are close but not identical.
• Safe areas (corners, Dynamic Island / status bar) shift slightly—keep headlines and CTAs inside the safe region on every size.
• Device chrome should match the target class so the screenshot looks native in App Store browse.

Do not stretch a 6.5" PNG into a 6.9" slot. Export each size properly.

One project, every size

In Screenshot Studio:

1. Create a Portrait (or Landscape) project—orientation is locked per project.
2. Start from a template or a blank set.
3. Place your app screens once.
4. Switch store sizes in the editor to spot-check text and frames.

Checklist before upload

• Text readable at the smallest export you ship.
• No critical UI under the notch / Island.
